California is unique in that it has whatever you want. Beaches, mountains, desert, forests, lush valleys, barren hills, and much more. That’s what nature provides. Man has also contributed to the state in many forms making it the most diverse economy in the country.
And then there is the weirdness that is California. On top of my weirdness list is slab city just east of Salton Sea. During WWII it was a USMC military base, Camp Dunlap.
When the military returned Camp Dunlap to California it left behind just a bunch of concrete slabs that were the part of the housing. Nature abhors a vacuum and so do Californians. Peopled moved out there. No water, no electricity, no sewers, no phone service just concrete slabs. Life has improved a bit with solar power, and cellphones but water is probably trucked in and I’m not sure what they do with the shit.
Strange don’t begin to explain this place.
So I’ll let this video to it for me. Enjoy.
